Sharing your story with someone new is an act of courage, and a good fit (“click”) is crucial for the unique relationship of therapy to be helpful. For these reasons, I emphasize authenticity, trust, and humor in my work, when struggles get in the way of fun, and suffering becomes too familiar.
Relationships are central to our well-being – at home, work, and socially, as well as the relationship we have with ourself. Most of my therapy is with individuals and couples who present with difficulties managing conflict, creating an emotional connection, and sexual health concerns (absence of intimacy, low desire, infidelity, and fertility). No topic or concern is off-limits in therapy, including all aspects of sexuality. I draw on evidence-based practices such as Gottman Method Couples Therapy, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). By emphasizing strengths and addressing challenges, I can support you in healing old wounds and fostering the relationships you want.
My doctoral degree (PhD) in clinical psychology is from the University of Rhode Island, where I conducted research in human sexuality. I grew up in North Dakota and, following graduate school, Minnesota was home for over 20 years before I got really cold and decided to begin a new adventure in Colorado.
